GREENHOUSE

The revised second edition of my Greenhouse pattern includes the same great patchwork Aloe, Jade, Prickly, Flower, and Cactus plants with simplified modern planters and a fresh new layout. Make your quilt using your favorite scraps, precut 10” squares, or fat quarters. The pattern includes fabric guides for the green Lap Quilt shown on the cover and the rainbow Large Quilt shown on the back.

Your favorite quilt shop can order printed booklet patterns from my wholesale distributors. Buy the pdf pattern here.

QUILTING

This Lap Quilt was quilted by Emily Hoppe of So Sunny Quilts using Moon Phases by Mistletoe Quilting Co.

CORRECTION

Some second edition patterns may have the following errata:

  • On Page 21, the chart that lists the pieces in the Flower Block shows the size of piece 4E as 2-½” x 3-½”. This should be 2-½” x 3”, as shown correctly in the cutting directions on Page 13.

  • On Page 23, the chart that lists the pieces in the Cactus Block shows the size of piece 5D as 2-½” x 6-½”. This should be 1-½” x 6-½” (the same width as similar parts of the cacti in the block) as shown correctly in the cutting directions on Page 13.

I’m sorry for this confusion!

This Robert Kaufman Ten Square pack of 54 Kona Solid squares can be used with the first or second edition pattern to make a quilt with a rainbow of colorful plants. (The colors in this pack are the ones listed on Page 26 of the second edition pattern and in the fabric guide linked below.)

FIRST EDITION PATTERN RESOURCES

If you have a first edition pattern, you can use this guide to make quilts like the ones in the second edition pattern. This fabric guide lists the fabrics used in those quilts.

SIMPLIFIED PLANT POTS

The plant pots in the second edition are the same size as the ones in the original pattern. If you’re using the original pattern and want to make these simpler plant pots, you can refer to the image below. Pieces 6B (background fabric) are sewn to pieces 6A (plant pot fabric) with diagonal seams.
