I almost never decorate for holidays, which is kind of weird, since I like holidays and I love making things!
In an attempt to be more festive, I decided to make this mini quilt for Halloween. It's not especially practical, but I think it will look good on a table with a bowl of candy sitting on it.
This is an 18" block that I drafted from a picture of a block called Barn Bats in my Nancy Cabot index. (I'm going to post a tutorial later today and I'll talk more about the pattern there.)
I couldn't resist including one plain bat, just so that I could embroider a little vampire face on him.
I want to thank Monica for pointing out to me that it's totally fine to quilt over embroidery. Now I want to embroider on everything!
All this talk of bats has gotten this song stuck in my head. My cats are going to get sick of hearing it today.
Then again, George-Michael does look like he might enjoy doing the Batty Bat.
