This is part of a series of posts about the quilts from Modern Patchwork. I'm highlighting a different quilt each month, and will be remaking each of the book quilts in some way.
I'm skipping ahead in the book this month to the Honey Quilt. This is the one that's on the front cover. I also made a larger version, Honey in Space, for the QuiltCon show.
I'm a big fan of sparkle and shine, but I've been slow to get on board the sparkly fabric trend. I love a challenge though, so when I started seeing Michael Miller's Mirror Ball Dot fabric pop up in my local shops, I thought it was a good time to give it a try.
As I start to get these quilts later in the process, it's becoming more challenging to decide what to do with them. It's a fun challenge, but a challenge nonetheless!
This time, I was excited to get to work on Jacquie's quilt, which arrived at my house looking like this.

Last week, I talked about my plan for making a "back-as-front" version of my Fire Drill quilt. The quilt top I ended up making is still based on the back of Fire Drill, but I switched things up a little bit (including going with a white background instead of the linen I had planned to use).
Thank you (all 1,009 of you!) for entering my QuiltCon goodie bag giveaway. The randomly-selected winner is Anne, who is making knit pants for her toddler boys. Congratulations, Anne!

I am a bit behind on my Modern Patchwork project, but I'm picking it back up this month with Fire Drill, which is on Pages 52 - 61.
It's time for more snowy photos! Sadly, there's no snow in Portland, but my Blogger's Choice fat quarter bundle for the Fat Quarter Shop is winter-themed, so I was lucky to get these photos of my quilt top when I was at Black Butte last week.
I can't belive we're already a third of the way through December! With the end of the year approaching, I thought it was a good time to take stock of my WIPs, which you can see stacked up on the table here.
This is part of a year-long series of posts about the quilts from Modern Patchwork. I'm highlighting a different quilt each month, and will be remaking each of the book quilts in some way. This month, I'm making a new version of the Rapid City quilt, which is on Pages 42 - 51 in Modern Patchwork.
I'm making progress on the Rapid City holiday quilt that I started last week.
