Rapid City quilt back. Made with Kona cotton solids and prints by Heather Moore from her Cut Out and Keep collection for Cloud 9 fabrics.
For me, one of the toughest things about writing a quilting book is creating a whole bunch of new quilts without being able to blog about it. Now that almost all of the Modern Patchwork quilts have found their way home, I want to take this week and do some blogging about them!
As some of you know, I spent the last 5 days in Kansas City attending Spring Quilt Market. Quilt Market is a trade show, and I was there to do a presentation for shop owners, aka Schoolhouse, about Modern Patchwork, and to participate, along with fellow contributors Weeks Ringle and Jacquie Gering, in the Schoolhouse for We Love Color . Along the way, I also did a book signing for Modern Patchwork, filmed a brief bit about We Love Color with Kyle from Robert Kaufman, saw some amazing new fabric (Echino Decoro, I'm looking at you!), stayed out much too late, and just generally met a ton of great people.
The winner of a copy of We Love Color is Julie, whose favorite Kona colors are Ash and Tangerine.
Thank you all so much for playing! Things are going to be quiet around the blog this week as I prepare for and go to Spring Market, but I'll have all kinds of fun stuff to talk about when I get back!
Here's a peek at the Xylophone quilt from my new book, Modern Patchwork. It's a queen bed quilt, measuring 88" x 92", and I quilted it on my home machine.
