Fancy Fox started our as a variation of The Cat, but soon developed a life of its own and turned into its very own multi-size pattern. These blocks are larger than The Cat, each one finishing at 6" x 8".
Apparently, I just can't stop making patchwork animals.
I used a different scrap of Liberty Lawn for each of these fox faces, and think they would also look great in different prints, or in solids. (I'm already planning one with this palette.)
I used Kona Snow and Espresso for the other parts of my fox faces, and Essex yarn-dyed in Olive for the background.
The pattern includes three quilt sizes and directions for making the fox faces with scraps, precut strips, fat eighths, or fat quarters.
The back of this quilt is plain, but I used a Free Spirit Voile solid to give it a texture similar to the Libery in the foxes. The semi-slippery voile made for difficult sandwiching, but very smooth free-motion quilting.
Fancy Fox will be available as part of my May 12 shop update. (More on that in the coming week!)
