I don't like to get into too much personal stuff here, but let me just say that 2013 could not be over soon enough. I'm so happy that it's a brand new year!
In lieu of the standard mosaic with a shot of every project, I picked a few of my favorites. In case you missed them the first time, I'm including links to the original posts.
Honey in Space
This is a version of the Honey quilt from Modern Patchwork that I made just so I could have a new quilt in the show at QuiltCon. It came with me to Austin and has been traveling ever since. These photos were taken in a bank plaza across the street from my hotel minutes before I had to hand it over for the show. (Thanks again, Alissa, for your help with that!)
Another version of Honey, this one also has a back that's different from the book quilt. You can't see unless you click through to the original posts, but the quilting is done in neon yellow thread, which I think looks great on both the white front and charcoal back.
Preppy Knee Socks
Knee Socks is a block I designed for the MQG blog. Although I cannot be certain, I suspect it may also be the only quilt block ever inspired by a Commodores video. I love this version, using Robert Kaufman's Chambray Union, Essex, Railroad Denim, and Kona solids.
Catvent / The Cat Quilt
What can I say about Catvent? It might best be described as a joke that got really out of hand, but I was delighted that so many of you wanted to play along. If you didn't have time to quilt along in December, you can find all of the posts here.
Super Secret Project That I Can't Talk About Until April
Of course, the best work I did this year is work that I can't talk about just yet. I promise it will be worth the wait!
Oh, and in browsing my 2013 photos, I noticed that my hair was quite a range of colors last year. This made me laugh!
