I wanted to show you a quilt that I made for my friend, Violet Craft, to show off her new collection for Michael Miller, Madrona Road.
This quilt is 45" x 60". The pattern is called Neighborhood and it's in my new book, Modern Patchwork.
I used Michael Miller Cotton Couture solids in Denim and Bright White for the background and window frames/rooftops. The other solids at the centers of the windows are Blossom, Raspberry, Clementine, Orange, and Starfruit.
I quilted this on my home machine using two different designs. I started by quilting a bunch of scattered pom-pom flowers that are sort of a combination of these loopy flowers and this design that Ashley from Film in the Fridge used recently. (Ashley's quilting was based on a design from Angela Walters' new book, which I haven't seen yet, but am really looking forward to).
I filled in the space around the flowers with the same random intersecting boxes that I used on the original quilt. I used Aurifil 2846 (very light slate blue) for the quilting.
Here's another look at the three-story house on the back.
As I was making this quilt, I also cut a stack of 74 charm squares 5" x 5". The pack includes 2 squares each of the prints in the collection and coordinating Cotton Couture Solids. If you'd like to win it, leave a comment on this post telling me which color or print in Violet's collection is your favorite. I'll randomly select a winner on Saturday morning.
ETA: Please submit only one comment/entry for the giveaway. Your comment may not be published immediately, but that doesn't mean that I haven't received it! Thank you!
