I know that some of you have been waiting for the expanded version of my Tokyo Subway Map pattern and I'm happy to report that it will finally be available this Wednesday! The quilt shown above is made with the new pattern and measures 80" x 80". Each of the squares on the quilt top is 2" x 2" finished.
The expanded pattern includes four size variations and two ways to make the subway "lines" and "stops" - a Super Scrappy Version where you can use as many different fabrics as you want and a Five Fabric Version for using just 5 different fabrics in each color. Both versions are scrap-friendly and FUN!
I've revised the quilt back to include 12 blocks, one to highlight each of the colors used in the quilt.
If you've been looking for a chance to feature little bits of all of your favorite fabrics in the same quilt, this may be the project for you! (Psst. It's also a great project to work on with friends with whom you can pool scraps.)
Would you like to win a copy of the new pattern? I'm giving away 5 copies. For a chance to win, leave a comment on this post telling me which of the colors used in the pattern is your favorite. I'll leave the comments open through Tuesday evening and will announce winners when the pattern goes on sale Wednesday morning. Comments are now closed. Thank you for entering!
I free-motion quilted an orange peel pattern all over my quilt top, using the gridded piecing as a guide. It may look complicated (and, admittedly, it did take some time) but it was actually very easy to do. I'll post more about the quilting later this week.
