Today I finished the 9 blocks I've been working on for my Ocagonal Orbs quilt. With 84 pieces per block, these take a while to make, but I think the results are pretty great. (My tutorial for these blocks is on the MQG blog, here.)
When I started this quilt, I planned to use Kona Charcoal for the background but, after finishing two blocks, I just wasn't feeling it. I deconstructed those blocks and replaced the Kona with Essex cotton/linen in Gray.
Taking apart those first two blocks was no fun at all, but I think the lighter gray looks much nicer!
