The Modern Quilt Guild's blog has a new post today (part of the ongoing 100 Days of Modern Quilting feature) with my tutorial for this lovely block, which was adapted from this lovey pillow by Heather Bostic.
Here's a peek at a project I'm working on using the blocks. Most of these were made with assorted orange and gray scraps from my stash. The background is Kona Charcoal.

I love this block and it's great to the tutorial at the Modern Quilt Guild blog! You do great work.

It's funny because the instant I saw it over at the Modern Quilt Guild blog post early this morning, I thought to myself, "Wow, that block looks like something Elizabeth would do." It wasn't until I read the tutorial that I saw it was yours. I hope that as I continue quilting, I develop a personal style that is as recognizable as yours is.
I was impressed by how clear the tutorial was. There are clear directions and fantastic photos. Thanks!

How funny that it was originally a cushion - I have this pinned for precisely that kind of project!

Thanks so much! This is what I posted on Heather's blog (This is a great block! I love that it's not paper pieced-which I thought it would be. Easy peasy instructions. I'm anxious to have the time to make a quilt with this block.)
One more thing. I learned about orbs (the ghost kind) when I vacationed in Savannah, GA. So, maybe I'll make a "Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil" quilt using this block, in memory of that vacation.

Love this! It looks hard. I will have to check the tutorial and see if I can manage it. I'm terrible about getting things lined up perfectly which is why I usually do wonky stuff. ;)

I'm making three new cushions for my sofa and, having made a chopped vegetable pattern, here is another pattern I can use! Perfect and thank you yet again for such clear instructions and inspiring ideas. Brilliant - just love it!!
