The Billboard Quilt-Along is open to anyone who wants to participate and has no set start or finish date. I’ve compiled a list of posts here.
Today's post is going to be pretty short and sweet! At this point, you've already done the hard work of planning your quilt top, planning your quilt back, and making your letters. All that's left is to sew the pieces together.
Since you already have detailed diagrams of both your top and back, I don't have much to offer you in the way of instruction. (You're basically just going to want to sew the pieces together to match your diagrams.) However, I do have a couple of suggestions for making sure your letters go together smoothly.
Start by arranging your finished letter blocks on your design wall (or any other large, open area) and examine them to see if any adjustments need to be made.
On my quilt, I first had to cut down the size of the block bases on my two I blocks so that the space around the letters was the same as on the other blocks.
I also noticed that the space between the L and T in the word quilt looked awkward.
To fix the problem, I trimmed the right side of the letter L and the left side of the letter T so that the two letters would nest more closely together.
I think it ends up looking better in the end.
Once you've made your adjustments, sew the letters into rows. Measure the length of each row and compare it to your quilt top diagram. If necessary, recalculate the size of the background fabric pieces that go on either side of the rows of letters.
Finish each row and sew the rows and sashing pieces together to finish the quilt top.
Finish the quilt back according to your diagram.

I apologize for the delay! I had some unforeseen machine difficulty and need to wait for repairs to be completed before I continue. Thanks for your patience!
