My plan had been to sew the blocks together without sashing, and I actually sewed 16/20 of them together before determining that it was just. too. much.
So, I picked apart all the blocks and sewed the top together with 2" Kona Ivory sashing. Ivory is the only Kona solid I used in every block and I think having it as sashing too makes the Ivory parts of the blocks look like negative space instead of accents, which I like a lot.
Since I worked on the blocks as individual compositions, it's nice to have a little mini gallery of them, all framed in Ivory.
With 15" blocks, this quilt top is a rather large 70" x 87". I'm not exactly sure what I'm going to do for the back yet, but I'm going to try to use as much of this pile of leftover scraps as possible.
