My Tokyo Subway Map quilt is finished! There really wasn't enough light today to photograph it well, but I just couldn't wait to show it off.
Here's the back.
And here it is on my quilt rack (aka IKEA towel stand).
Just because I've finished my quilt doesn't mean that it's too late to start the quilt along. All the how-to posts are right here.
Thank you so much to Ayumi for her help translating the letters for the back, and thank you to everyone who has been playing along in the Flickr Pool.
And a HUGE thank you to Hiromi, who suggested making a quilt inspired by the Tokyo Subway Map in the first place!
Last time I asked, I got so many wonderful suggestions, so I think I'm going to ask again. What would YOU like to see for the next quilt-along? Are you inspired by a particular idea or theme? Do you love a certain color scheme? Are you dreaming of working with a certain shape? I'll be putting together another original quilt-along pattern shortly and would love to hear from you.

WoW!!!!

How did you do the letters on the back? It looks amazing!

Wow. It's gorgeous! It came together so well and the letters on the back just top it off. Next quilt along -- I don't know if I can participate right now, but I'm stuck on yellow and gray right now since that's what we're decorating the nursery with for our baby girl. Then again, you never disappoint! :)

Fantastic! And the back with the lettering is amazing. And I'm going to check out the Ikea quilt rack idea immediately.

Your quilt looks awesome. It is so pretty on a dreary winter day. Have you thought about doing an Ocean Wave block quilt along? Or a good variation on a half square triangle quilt?

I would love to do something with stars. I don't think I've ever seen a star block I didn't like, but for some reason I just haven't ever done any!

I totally need to get on that Ikea quilt rack! That looks FANTASTIC! I could totally use one of those, and hopefully my Tokyo map will soon be gracing it.
As for ideas - I've totally been dwelling on making a quilt all about color gradations. Like a quilt using only blues (well, and gray maybe for some contrast) and just playing around with using the color gradations to create movement and flow. The picture in my head looks pretty modern, but I'm not sure how to translate it to fabric.

it's beautiful!
I'd love a quilt-a-long featuring curves in the piecing and maybe only solid fabrics?!

The avatars next to Jessica and Babs are pretty interesting....and they would mesh with the suggestion of curved piecing, ocean wave, and solids!

WOW!!! The quilt is amazing!!!! I wanted to join but didn't find your blog until block 22. And I wanted to join then but since I have only made seven quilts and most of them beginner quilt I was to nervous to start late with the Toyko Subway Map quilt. I hope to particapte in the next quilt along. All your quilts are amazing.

awesome awesome awesome - I so enjoyed following the quilt along (virtually) and have it in the back of my mind to do one day...I really like what you've done on the back and all that white sets off the design - so modern and fresh. Thanks for your generosity in doing these quiltalongs even for those of us who just dreamalong!!!

This quilt is gougeous!! It is for sure one of my favourites! Someday I have to make one like this... Love love it!
And for a new one... I like everything that has to be with trees or leaves, so I would like to see a tree quilt, I think you have make a tree quilt before...

My mind is fuzzy from a cold, so I have no good suggestions for another quilt along. I just wanted to say that I LOVE this quilt! I wanted to participate in the quilt along but didn't have time, maybe I can make my own version sometime this year. :)
