ETA: This pattern is now available in my shop.
Now that the weather is finally warm, I decided it was time for a nice picnic quilt!
I wanted it to be large enough for people to sit on comfortably, so I made it 75" x 75".
I also wanted it to be heavier than a normal quilt, so I made the back out of denim.
But the coolest thing about this project is probably the attached strap that holds the folded quilt together for storage. Using extra-wide Velcro makes a strap that's secure and easy to use. Perfect for keeping in your car!
The solids on the quilt front are Kona Ash and Kona Navy.
The print fabrics that I used for this project can be purchased as a fat quarter bundle from Fabricworm. For July, I chose bold red, deep navy, gray and white.
The pattern includes directions for piecing the blocks using 12 fat quarters, assorted scraps or a roll of precut 2 1/2" strips.
