There are actually two collections being featured this month, Flower Power and Pretty Please. Both are by Jennifer Paganelli for Free Spirit. Both are really beautiful and full of color.
My tutorial is for a very low-maintenance (no pattern, no metal hardware, almost no interfacing) bag.
The bag can be made as a shoulder bag, as shown above . . .
. . . or as a smaller handbag.
The construction of the bags is similar to what I would use to make a bag with a bamboo or wooden handle but, because these handles are fabric, they have a sort of drawstring effect.

Thank you!! I'm always looking for an easy, cute bag pattern.

You are awesome! I've been itching to make a purse, had most of it cut out and realized I didn't have enough interfacing. This is perfect to get the itch out of my system until I can get more interfacing. Thanks!!

Very cute! Love your tutes as always, and this one is super-cute! Those fabrics are really amazing too.
I chickened out at the last minute and didn't do a PDF for the top tutorial, but thank you anyway for the handy advice. I'm SURE I will be using it in the future for another pattern. (:

Wonderful pattern and instructions. Great looking and easy. What could be better??? Thank you so very much! Another to add to my growing list of things to make.

Thanks Elizabeth. I made one yesterday! I've posted the pictures to the sew mama sew pool. I found it easy to do, but must admit I read pictures faster than words(aka instructions) and did have to redo a bit. But very happy with size - and not having to use a 'real' pattern to make a bag. Thanks again.

THIS I'm going to make! Must write exam paper this week but a girl needs a break from time to time. This is a perfect candidate for that! Thank you for the pattern!
