I made this doll quilt using the first of the three styles included in my Mixtape Quilts pattern, which will be available in my Etsy shop this Friday. This simple 20 block layout can be made as a doll quilt, baby quilt or lap quilt. It uses eight different prints and a coordinating solid.
The prints I chose for this one are various yellows, aquas, teals and kiwis. The sashing is natural linen.
I picked these fabrics from my shelves based on color and didn't even notice until I was quilting how many of them featured rose motifs. In the end, it looks kind of cool to see the different styles of roses together.
I think I'm going to hang this one in my living room, since it matches what I already have in there, but I still have quite a bit of these fabrics left, so I'm definitely going to make another quilt that uses them together!
And here's another version of the Favorite Songs style, this one featuring different green prints.

Love your work!!!
Andi :-)

Wow - your quilts are stunning! I just found your blog through another blog - your machine quilting is gorgeous. Do you have any hints on free motion quilting, especially larger quilts? I always seem to get tangled and give up!

Yay!!!!!!!!!! I've been waiting for this pattern. I'm loving the fabric choices. I think the movement in these quilts is just fantastic. All the scrolls and stripes create a really cool effect.

These quilts are fabulous! I esp. love the stars and green. And you have inspired me to start using linen/cotton combo. I just ordered my first piece from Sew Mama and I love it! Thanks for the info.

I too love your quilts. I also would like to learn more about free motion quilting. I haven't made a quilt before. What project would you suggest would be good for a first time quilter? I really have gotten so much inspiration from your blog! I love all your color combos! Keep up the good work!

I love how the color pops on the mixed tape. I am using linen on a wall-hanging quilt for the first time. Do you find you have to make your seams larger than a quarter inch? I've notice how the linen gives a lot more and I would be worried about my seams standing up to multiple washes....

I love how the natural linen sashing on the Mixtape quilt really makes the blues and greens glow! Both of these quilts look like patterns I would like to make.
