How to Make a Charging Basket

2837424351_a2a39d0012

I used one of my vintage sheet fat quarters and some natural linen and Kona cotton to make this phone charging basket.

It's about 8" square and 3.5" tall and is just the right size for my phone, keys, sunglasses, and a few other things.

The inside is made with a quilted, patchwork panel. . .

. . . and the outside is covered in the vintage sheet material.

Man, oh man, Elizabeth! Your tutorials are such knockouts! Your photos, the amount of detail and fantastic descriptions of each step make everything so do-able. You are seriously amazing, thank you.

Thank you for reading my mind. I was Googling for a pattern EXCATLY like this just last night. It's perfect. I just need to wait for my machine to come back from being repaired...

Brilliant idea. Beautifully presented as always.

Very clever! I can't wait to get some time to have a go at this. Thanks!

I like it a lot. I made similar awhile ago - it is really very useful. Have not seen tutorial yet / as i do not have adobe here/ but I am sure it is as nice as the basket itself.

This project is on my list! I already have a modification in mind (not to say your pattern isn't wonderful, but I have a cat that LOVES to play with cords). I'm going to overlap a few strips of elastic across the opening so that the cords have something to catch on and the cat can't pull my phone right out of the box. Thanks for the tut!

Fabulous. We have a power strip with four chargers attached making an ugly mess in our kitchen. I think I'll modify this idea to suit our needs. Thanks! You are inspirational as always!

This is super cute! I'll be linking to this!

This is a fantastic project idea. So useful and handy to keep your charger, keys, shades, etc. in such a pretty place. I am really getting into your tutorials these days! Thank you for sharing your creative ideas.

Thank you thank you thank you! I was one of the ones begging for this tutorial, and I am SO excited to see it! Hopefully I will have a finished one to show you soon!

Woah, it's like you read my mind. As I was reading through the post, I kept thinking - I want one! I want one! And now I can make one. Thanks a ton!

thank you so much. I can't wait to find some time to make one of these.

I recently painted the great room in our house (orange, well, canned pumpkin) and I have three FQs to match the new paint but didn't know what to do with them. Now I will be making this "charging basket". Perfect!!! Thanks!!!

I so need one of these for the table at my front entry. Thank you soooo much.~Susan

Very nicely done! The pictures are awesome and the attention to detail is great! Thank you for doing this- you really should do a book!
