More Vintage Linens
I realize I'm not supposed to be buying any new fabric during the Second Quarter, but I had a very good reason. At least I had a good reason for going to the Thrift Store . . . I can't say there way really any reason I needed to buy the pillowcases and napkins. They were just great prints and I couldn't resist.
Lisa of Polka Dot Creations invited me to join her Summer Skirt Sheet Swap and, though I have many pieces of sheets, I didn't have any that were the right size for the swap. Now I do and they're on their way to Lisa. Assuming everything goes to plan, I'll get four quarter sheets back later this month. I can't wait to see what they look like.
I also wanted to take a moment and thank all the awesome people who have been reading and commenting on my blog lately. I'm not always able to respond to everyone, but I do try to answer your questions and I want you to know how much I appreciate you all!
To that end, I'm doing two giveaways this week. The first one is for this lovely stack of vintage linen pieces shown in the photo above. It's 22 different pieces, each one approximately 15" square. If you'd like to be entered in the drawing, comment on this post before Midnight (Pacific) on Friday, May 2.
Thank you so much, everyone!

wow, i managed to post first on two posts..... i bet those pillow cases and napkins looked at you and were screaming pick me pick me. they are lovely. cute linens. thrifting is not so easy here in singapore but finding dress fabrics, trims, buttons, interfacing and other notions is not so difficult....
btw thank you for a brill swap.

Hi Elizabeth - I'd love to be considered in your giveaway! The fabrics you bought today - and other vintage fabrics you've shown - look just like the fabric smy grandmother used to stock in her curtain store in the 1970s - when I look at your photos, I'm always reminded of the bolts of fabric that were taller than me, sitting in amongst them like trees, eating rock cakes from the bakery next door! Have a lovely weekend! :-)

No Way! Just yesterday I found this coverlet I want to make so badly, but have no access to vintage sheets anywhere around here. These would be PERFECT! Check out this beautiful coverlet:

Fabulous fabrics. When you're purchasing vintage bed linens, do you limit it to 100% cotton, or do you also use poly/cotton blends?
Thanks!

I'm always seeing cool vintage linens on blogs, but I have yet to start hunting for my own. This would be a great start to my collection, don't you think? ;)
Thanks for such a fun giveaway. I love reading your blog!

Where the heck do you find such cool vintage stuff? When I troll the "vintage" stores (okay, Goodwill and other charity shops), all I find is *blech*. I think maybe I need a lesson in what's *blech* and what's a diamond in the rough.

I would love, love, love to have that fabric. I live in such a small town that our thrift store only ever has really junky stuff. Not good junky stuff, if you know what I mean!
Thanks for having this contest!!!

Your vintage linens are great! I found some good vintage sheets at a Boy Scout tag sale last weekend for $1, now I have to figure out what to make with them.
