I made this wristlet tonight for Tasha's birthday. She wanted a wristlet made with this lime elephants fabric from Superbuzzy. I also used a little scrap of Girlfriends fabric and some linen. The front is embellished with hand stitching with lime green embroidery floss and a vintage mother of pearl button.
The back of the wristlet is solid linen. Before I added that panel to the wristlet, I used a disappearing ink marker to draw a little elephant, like the ones from the fabric, onto the linen and I used a simple backstitch to outline the drawing with embroidery.
Happy Belated Birthday, Tasha! I hope you like your wristlet.
ETA: The way the elephant fabric is cut -- so that there are four neat rows of elephants, with none cut off -- was not planned. It was, as Bob Ross would say, a happy accident!

I love backstitch - I used to be part of an embroidery group that met every Friday morning and we were taught to outline with stem stitch - Nah! looks to chunky - backstitch is just lovely. Nice elephant.

I love this! I could touch up your photos in photoshop if you'd like. It wouldn't take much time. Maybe for a small fee or trade? :)
Take care!

Thank you, everyone!
Kelli, I have photo editing software. I think my real issue is lighting -- I just need better lamps. Thank you for the offer though. :)

What a nice gift! It looks great! Please please let me know what you end up doing for better late night photo shots. I always wait until the daytime when the natural light is good coming through the skylights to take all photos for this reason. It would be really nice though to take a photo when I want to instead of having to wait until 1-3 pm the next day to get a decent shot.

Hey Elizabeth! The new photos look great! Nice white light! I have lighting issues too, our house being very dark on the inside, and Australian light being searingly bright - everything is either gloomy or washed out. But the elephants now look even better! :-)

Love the wristlet - the embroidery on the back, the choice of fabric, the vintage button - just perfect! Your fabric grocery sacks are great - what a good use for vintage sheets/pillowcases. The tie detail finshed it off.

I've looked everywhere on superbuzzy.com for this fabric. Any idea if they discontinued the elephant fabric or if they'll have it back? I love your stuff, it's so beautiful and creative!
